The World Endurance Championship (WEC) season opener at Spa-Francorchamps had quite the crash.

A video has surfaced on YouTube showing Matevos Isaakyan and his SMP Racing BR Engineering BR1-AER going airborne with about an hour remaining in the race. The accident happens so quickly that it’s hard to catch Isaakyan’s car completing a full backflip (and maybe even two) before landing on the far side of the track.

Fortunately the Russian driver was declared unhurt after taken to a local hospital and getting checked out.

It’s still unclear what exactly happened, but it appears Isaakyan was off the racing line, traveling over the white-painted rumble strips before the car went airborne.
