Sexy Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Draws Huge Crowd at Pebble Beach
The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato was never supposed to happen.
Unveiled as a concept car not too long ago in Italy as a collaboration between the British automaker and Zagato (an Italian designer and coachbuilding company that’s worked with Aston for 50 years), the special Vanquish wasn’t supposed to see life as a road car.

But the reactions to the stunning red coupe were overwhelmingly positive and in a surprise move, Aston Martin announced that it would put the Vanquish Zagato into production. In another unexpected move, Aston announced that it would also produce a convertible version (dubbed the Volante) and to celebrate, they brought both the cars to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during Monterey Car Week.

Aston Martin has said that it would make 99 units, but it is unclear whether it will be 99 convertible and 99 coupe models or if that production number would be split between the two.
Powered by a naturally aspirated V12 with 590 horsepower, the coupe can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Extensive use of carbon fiber in the body panels helps keeps the Vanquish Zagato light and Aston reduced the split lines on the body by using large one-piece panels for a smoother look.
Pricing for the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato coupe and convertible were not announced, but deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2017. This special car is bound to be a collectors car one day, and you shouldn’t be surprised if the whole lot has already been spoken for.
