Maserati Biturbo To Make A Comeback With Chrysler Power

The Maserati Biturbo, that boxy relic of the 1980s, may be coming back according to reports. The Biturbo was Maserati’s most popular offering in the 1980’s, but also their most unreliable, with the twin-turbo V6 becoming notorious for its fickle operation.

The proposed car will share a platform with the Alfa Romeo 166 replacement, and slot in under the Quattroporte. Power will be from a Chrysler Pentastar V6, which will certainly be equipped with twin-turbochargers, and possibly direct injection. Look for it in 2013, and if we’re lucky, we won’t get another Chrysler TC by Maserati either.

They were not unreliable if properly manteined.Especially in the later version with Fuel Injection. My BMW 325i give me more problems in few years (5) then my 2.24 in 20 years.
