Mazda‘s new Shinari Concept has really sparked a renewed interest in the brand and the Japanese automaker appears set to capitalize on this by exploring the direction of its new Kodo design language for the rest of the lineup.

Having just released video of the Shinari Concept, Mazda has now released a video that gives an interesting look at what the next generation Mazda3 (or Mazda2) might look like when inspired by the Shinari and the brand’s new Kodo design language. To create the spot Mazda projected different colors and images onto a clay model – which means they’ve at least come as far as sculpting the next-gen Mazda3.

We’ll be interested to see how closely the third generation Mazda3 follows this early design prototype and if combined with the company’s new fuel efficient Sky G engines Mazda can achieve success.
