Having just introduced the high-performance Evora S model, Lotus will look to further expand the Evora range, adding a flagship track-inspired version to its lineup.

Set to get a new higher-output version of the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 used in the Evora S making as much as 400-hp, the car will also get a stripped-down cockpit. In addition, look for further weight savings, with the use of carbon fiber and composite materials. Inspiration will be taken from the line of track-only GT cars, like the Evora Cup GT4 (above), which debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance last year.

Such a car isn’t likely to arrive for over a year, however, with Lotus already planning several more Evora models. With the IPS (automatic transmission) model set to hit the U.S. market by the end of the year, look for an open top version of the Evora to follow.
