Cadillac has released a pair of teaser images for its upcoming 2015 Escalade, showing off the next-generation luxury SUV’s badge and headlights.

The 2015 Cadillac Escalade will debut on October 7 in New York and AutoGuide will be reporting live when the sheet comes off. The new Escalade is expected to reach dealerships nationwide by mid-2014 and will likely share technologies with the fresh crop of 2014 GM trucks and SUVs.

That includes both a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8, both of which feature cylinder deactivation, direct injection and variable valve timing. Like the trucks, the engines are likely to be paired to a six-speed automatic transmission at launch, but an eight-speed unit is said to be in the works.

The 2015 Escalade will be based on the newly updated Chevrolet Silverado platform, and based on the teaser image of the headlights, it’s evident that the American automaker is adopting styling cues from its pickup. It will however carry on its traditionally boxy shape, putting the focus on power and presence rather than fuel economy.
