The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the 2014 Cadillac SRX an overall five-star safety rating.

In the front crash test, the SRX received four stars, while the rollover crash test also resulted in a four star rating. Five stars were awarded to the SRX in the side crash test, which helped push the overall score to five stars.

The 2014 SRX also scored well on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests, including the small overlap test which has been tricky for many vehicles to score well on.

Standard safety equipment on the SRX includes six airbags, antilock brakes, side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert and electronic stability control.
