New Cadillac XT5 Spied From More Angles

The new Cadillac XT5 has been caught once again, this time at a photo shoot.

We have already seen a single photo of the SRX-replacement testing, but this new set of spy photos shows off the crossover from multiple angles including our first look at the rear end.

Cadillac’s corporate face is seen on the XT5, looking reminiscent of the newly revealed CT6. The angular design used on the current SRX transfers over to the new XT5, which appears to be about the same size as its predecessor. That means it will offer two rows with capacity for five occupants.

A seven-seat version of the crossover is rumored to eventually join the lineup, giving Cadillac a competitor to the Acura MDX and Volvo XC90. The standard XT5 competes with the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Lexus RX.

The familiar 3.6-liter V6 is expected to be available at launch while turbocharged engines, a diesel and a plug-in hybrid setup are all expected to join the lineup.

Cadillac will officially pull the sheet off the XT5 at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, 2015.

What a fugly thing! Who would have thought eight to ten years ago that something that silly looking could ever come out of Cadillac. I guess they've managed to lower the bar yet again.
