The Mazda RX-Vision concept has been awarded Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year at the 31st Festival Automobile International.

Making its debut at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, the RX-Vision concept previews the Japanese automaker’s rotary revival as well as the RX nameplate. Boasting smooth-flowing proportions that pay tribute to Mazda’s rich heritage of front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports cars, the RX-Vision concept was also one of AutoGuide.com‘s favorites for the year.

This is the latest award for Mazda’s global design division, which also took home three awards in September at the Automotive Brand Contest 2015 including the prestigious Team of the Year award.

A new RX? I just fired my load in my pants. I hope they bring back the Rotary engine, so frickin sexy. Of course if it's built like that the vast majority of people will never be able to afford to buy one, even used.

Nice job by Mazda! At first when I saw the RX-Vision's long sloping hood, I thought "multi-rotor Wankel engine!" like 3 or 4 rotors, which would be awesome! However, I feel like an RX-9 won't look exactly like or close to this concept, but as long as it has the Wankel rotary, I won't complain over looks.
