Mazda has released new teaser pictures of its upcoming CX-4 crossover.

It looks as though the CX-4 stays somewhat true to the Koeru concept that its based on, and it bears a pretty strong resemblance to the CX-5. The CX-4 is expected to essentially be a coupe-styled version of its larger CX-5 sibling.

Mazda calls it the “Exploring-Coupe SUV” in China, which will host the CX-4’s debut at the Beijing Motor Show at the end of April.

It is expected to launch with a 2.2-liter diesel, a 2.0-liter gas engine and a 2.5-liter gas engine option. Front-wheel drive will be standard while all-wheel drive will be available.

For now, Mazda has said that the CX-4 is a China-only vehicle, while the decision to bring it to other markets is still undecided.
