Nissan Altima Recalled for Phantom Doors
Owners of 2015-2017 Nissan Altima sedans might want to keep their rear windows closed for the time being.
The Japanese automaker is recalling over 341,000 Altima sedans in the U.S. because the rear doors may inadvertently open if the rear window is lowered. The recall affects vehicles from the 2015 through 2017 model years and the issue involves the latch and lock cable in the doors. According to government documents, Nissan says the cable may not have been routed properly at the factory, and in certain situations, the window assembly could interfere with the cable, causing the doors to open unintentionally.

The company will notify affected owners about the recall within the next two months and dealers will modify the doors to ensure the cables are routed properly free of charge.
