Mercedes-Benz has shown of the cockpit of its upcoming 2020 EQC crossover – the first vehicle to be sold under its new EQ electric sub-brand.

As we suspected, the EQC’s cabin won’t look too much different than other new Mercedes vehicles. It features its new MBUX infotainment system and widescreen display along with other Mercedes touches such as ambient light signatures, door-mounted seat position controls and a blue push-button start.

Powering the EQC will be an electric motor (or two on all-wheel drive models). It’s not clear how much power it will make, but 300 kW is a number that’s often been floated. Certain all-wheel drive models may have even more power on tap, with Mercedes-Benz likely looking at competing with the performance-oriented versions of the Tesla Model X.

Mercedes also showed off the EQC’s front and rear-ends this week, revealing its headlights, rear light bar and narrow rear window.

The 2020 EQC will make its debut during a special event in Stockholm, Sweden next week. Stay tuned for all the details once they become available on September 4th.
