The Hyundai Kona is getting a huge style boost for its next iteration.

We haven’t got many details, but the new 2024 Hyundai Kona is one slick-looking crossover. Recently, Hyundai has taken the wraps off its next-generation Hyundai Kona crossover, this time promising gas, and electric powertrains, but also a new hybrid as well.

The new Kona uses the latest iteration of Hyundai’s futuristic-looking styling language, which we’ve seen on Europe and Korea-only models like the Bayon, Staria, and Casper. Here, the Kona finally catches up with Hyundai’s now characteristic monobrow lightbar, (called “Seamless Horizon Lamp”) and underset headlamps. The N-line, EV, and gas-powered Konas all have different interpretations of the lower valance, with the EV having a pixel-like lower grille similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5. At the rear, a similarly long and skinny brake light, with signal and reverse lights occupying space on the extreme sides of the rear fascia.

Overall, the Kona’s grown quite a bit, 5.9 inches overall length, with 2.3 inches of those going to the wheelbase. Interestingly, Hyundai said that it started development with the EV version first, and worked backward to accommodate the ICE and hybrid variants.

Inside, we can’t get a dead-on, live photo view of the dashboard, but we can see the twin, mounted in tandem, 12.3-inch displays that take up much of the interior. Also, the gear selector has been moved from the center console to the steering column, freeing up room. Overall, Hyundai says the new Kona’s interior is more spacious than before.

Hyundai hasn’t released many other details, aside from the fact that it’ll be available in hybrid, EV, and ICE versions. Expect more market-specific details to come in the near future, with a possible release date sometime before 2024.
