Originally scheduled to make its auto show debut in Frankfurt this September, the next-generation MINI Cooper will now reportedly be revealed at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

With the production BMW i3 being unveiled online on July 29, instead Frankfurt Motor Show will keep the spotlight on the German automaker’s i-brand, leaving the new MINI Cooper to debut in Los Angeles, California.

The next-generation MINI Cooper is expected to feature a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder motor under the hood with rumored horsepower figures to land anywhere between 120 horsepower to 200 horsepower. There is, however, a chance that the current four-cylinder powerplants will carry over for the first year that the next-generation Cooper is available, until the British automaker has production on its three-cylinders under control. The 2014 MINI Cooper will also be built on a new front-wheel-drive platform that will also be shared with BMW’s 1 Series GT and MPV models.

Please leave the mini alone! Owners individualize according to their personalities and tastes! In a world of constant change it's nice to have something that remains the same!
