The highly modified Lexus IS-F CCS-R is set to take on the famous Pikes Peak hill climb race to the clouds, and ahead of the big day the team has been doing some shakedown runs.

Lucky for us, the one of those runs has been captured on video, showing the light-weight Lexus climb the 156 corner track, accelerating from an altitude of 9,300 feet to 14,110 feet.

The car itself, while making the factory 416 hp from its 5.0-liter V8, has been extensively modified to weight just 3,087 lbs – almost 700 lbs less than the production version.

Watch the shakedown run video below, plus check out the bonus video of just how amazing the IS-F CCS-R’s V8 engine sounds.

The Pikes Peak International Hill climb takes place July 8th.
