Jaguar F-Type Coupe Club Sport Rumored
Could a lighter Jaguar F-Type Club Sport Coupe be on the way?
The British automaker is teasing the idea of such a model that would be even lighter than the F-Type R Coupe, which weighs in at 3,671 lbs. Packed with more aggressive aerodynamics and a stripped out interior featuring carbon fiber seats and panels, the F-Type Club Sport would ideally weigh around 3,230 lbs and accelerate to 62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. According to Jaguar’s F-Type Program Director Russ Varney, the F-Type Club Sport would need to see demand of around 500 units annually in order to justify the business case of creating the model.

As for a powerplant for the F-Type Club Sport, no decision on that has been made meaning the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 is still a valid candidate along with the larger 5.0-liter supercharged V8. Regardless, one thing is for sure, Jaguar is planning additional variants for its hot F-Type Coupe and they could be coming sooner than later.
“We have three or four things we are looking at for the next developments of the F-TYPE and a lightweight, harder version is a long way up that list,” admitted Varney.
