Rear-wheel drive, lightweight sports cars under $30,000 are a rare, delightful breed of vehicle. Here we have two of the best: the 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5 and the 2015 Subaru BRZ.

Both cars are seriously engaging to drive, offer great feedback, and even though they aren’t hugely powerful, they feel fast and are ridiculous fun to drive quickly. These are raw cars for people who love to drive and don’t need anything fancy.
