Although we have speculated this would be the case, filings with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) indicate that the upcoming Mazda CX-70 will indeed share powertrains with the larger CX-90. The CX-90, Mazda’s full-size SUV, is powered by either a 3.3-liter turbocharged inline-six engine mated to a 48-volt mild hybrid system, or a 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired to a plug-in hybrid system.
