2018 Chevrolet Traverse Sees $1,280 Price Hike

Chevrolet’s other full-size crossover has just been priced ahead of its official market launch later in the year.

Sharing a platform with the new Buick Enclave, the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse’s $30,875 (excluding destination) base MSRP has increased by $1,280 compared to the current truck, however, option all the goodies, and the large crossover’s price will stretch past $50,000 in the U.S.

Base models get a 3.6-liter V6 hitched to a nine-speed automatic transmission with automatic stop/start capability, cloth seats, standard dual-zone climate control, a backup camera, and a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 4G LTE hotspot capability.

The next step up is the $32,995 Traverse LS, which gives way to the two-tier LT trim. Starting at $35,495, 1LT models get cloth seats plus more gear than the base L model; moving to the $42,095 3LT pack adds heated leather seats, 20-inch wheels, Bose audio, power liftgate, and a 360-degree camera.

All-wheel-drive is a standalone option that will run you an extra $2,000 on LS and 3LT trucks, but inexplicably an extra $3,800 when paired with the 1LT model.

Moving even further up the ladder is the $45,395 Traverse Premier, which brings LED headlamps, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. AWD can be had for an extra $2,900.

At the top of the pile sits the $52,995 Traverse High Country, which brings a chrome-dipped face, all the active safety features you could want, and a standard twin-clutch AWD system like the one in the GMC Acadia, Buick Envision, and Cadillac XT5.

Eventually, Chevrolet promises the Traverse RS equipped exclusively with a 2.0L turbo lifted from the Camaro for those seeking a hotter option, but pricing remains unannounced.
