The Mercedes Concept EQ A debuts next week.

Although most of the excitement from Mercedes at Frankfurt Motor Show will involve AMG’s Project One hypercar, the Concept EQ A will be more attainable by general consumers. Little is still known about the Concept EQ A, but it will preview the German automaker’s entry-level electric offering and based on the teaser sketch, Mercedes is going the route of targeting the Volkswagen e-Golf more than the BMW i3 with a stylish design.

2017 Frankfurt Motor Show Coverage

The Concept EQ A will ride on Mercedes-Benz’s Modular Electric Architecture, which will eventually underpin a wide range of electrified vehicles from the brand. The first production model is expected to be the EQ C, a crossover-type vehicle that will take on the eventual Tesla Model Y and electric BMW X3.
