Buick’s new entry level model is not quite a car nor is it an SUV. The Envista is something new and combines the styling of a SUV coupe with the pricing of a premium subcompact sedan. It’s the brand’s new entry level model and looks to appeal to traditional sedan buyers.
Power for the new model comes from a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Envista is only available with front-wheel drive.

The 2024 Buick Envista ST is that experience in four-wheeled form: a satisfyingly rich and robust sit-down meal with a fast-food price. Champagne—actual champagne, not just the taste of it—on a beer budget. While Buick’s new baby is something of an anomaly on the market, it’s so good that I’d be surprised if other premium brands don’t follow its lead into this segment.
