The second model to come from VinFast should be the VF 9 three-row all-electric SUV. Currently there are not a lot of EVs offered with three-row seating. If VinFast gets to market quickly, this could be a great opportunity for the young auto-manufacturer. 

With the Passat being discontinued, the Arteon is now Volkswagen’s only mid-size sedan. With a rakish coupe-like profile, the Arteon is a more premium offering amongst family sedans. It battles in a rare segment with the likes of the Nissan Altima and Kia Stinger.

One of the original hot hatches, the Volkswagen GTI continues to be a great performance value. The front-wheel drive five-door is available with a manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 241 hp engine.

The Volkswagen Mircobus is back! Reborn as an all-electric multi-passenger vehicle, the new ID. Buzz cashes in on nostalgic styling while using state of the art technology. Powering the rear-wheels is a single motor making 201 hp. 

The new Volkswagen flagship sedan is the all-electric ID.7. Slightly larger than other mid-size cars, the new ID-7 will launch with a single powertrains. Making 288 hp and over 400 lb-ft. of torque, the ID.7 will be rear-wheel drive and feature a 77 kWh battery.

With the Tiguan growing in size, the Volkswagen Taos fills the void left behind. Playing in the grey area between subcompact and compact SUVs, the Taos offers decent passenger room in a small package. 

The Tiguan is Volkswagen’s entry in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. Previously one of the smaller entries on the market, the second generation Tiguan grew substantially and is one of the only compact SUVs to offer three-rows of seating. 

The Volvo C40 Recharge is one of the more unique vehicles on the market. Not only is it one of the few all-electric small luxury SUVs on sale, but it comes in a swoopy coupe-like body style. A near mechanical twin to the more conventional XC40 Recharge, the C40 is one of the most outlandishly styled vehicles in Volvo’s lineup. 

Volvo’s compact sedan is one of the brand’s longest running nameplates. Two versions of the car are available that go from mild to wild. The entry level model matches the field of compact luxury cars head-on like the BMW 330i, Audi A4, Lexus IS 300, and Cadillac CT4. 

Volvo’s large sedan is different than many offerings from Germany, Japan, and America. For starters, it only comes with a choice of 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. But don’t be fooled by the small displacement. The units are turbocharged and supercharged, and one is paired to a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that makes a total of 455 hp and 523 lb-ft. of torque. 

Volvo is one of the few manufacturers that still offers a compact luxury wagon. In fact, the brand is one of the few left to offer a wagon of any kind. The V60 only comes in one trim now, the top of the line Recharge with a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder mated to a plug-in hybrid.

The V60 Cross Country follows the a trend amongst luxury manufacturers of lifting up the brand’s wagons in an attempt to bolster sales. The true definition of a crossover, the V60 Cross Country is only available in a single trim. Unlike the potent and expensive V60, the Cross Country uses a more modest powertrain that’s matched by a much more accessible price point. 

Volvo’s large V90 wagon is no more, but the slightly higher sitting, crossover V90 Cross Country lives on. To us, this still resembles a wagon more than a crossover, and it might be the best looking long roof on the market. 

The XC40 is a subcompact SUV that slots below the XC60 in Volvo’s lineup. Two versions of XC40 are available; a 194 hp front-wheel drive model as well as one with 247 hp and all-wheel drive. For those wanting more power and/or fully electric power, there is also the XC40 Recharge

The XC60 is one of Volvo’s most important models. The compact SUV accounts for a lot of the brand’s sales and is offered in three trim levels: the B5, B6, and Recharge. All three models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with various levels of turbocharging, supercharging, and hybrid boost. 

Volvo’s largest SUV is the three-row XC90. Like most of the Swedish manufacturer’s vehicles, the XC90 is offered with a choice of 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. The entry level makes an adequate 247 hp while the top-of-line Recharge features 455 hp from a plug-in hybrid set-up. 

Four big, body-on-frame SUVs enter the arena. Only one will win. It’s time to see which is the best full-size SUV.

The new 2024 Acura ZDX is unlike the ZDX of the past. For starters, the new SUV is fully electric, a first for Acura. Shared with a platform co-developed with GM, the Acura engineers have worked hard to differentiate the ZDX from its distant Cadillac Lyriq cousin.

Folks looking to stretch their dollars will be hard-pressed to beat the Elantra.

Trademark filings found by AutoGuide indicate that Lexus is planning an expansion of its ES sedan lineup. The series of filings show trademarks for a Lexus ES350h, ES350e, and ES500e. Frankly, Lexus’ lineup nomenclature isn’t the easiest to decipher, but we’ve broken it down for you, starting with the ES350h.

The Honda Civic is getting a big update for the 2025 model year, but that doesn’t mean the 2024 model is no good. In fact, we’d say it’s the best in class, with an asterisk. But more on that asterisk a bit later.

Hyundai continues to pursue the family sedan market with the refreshed 2024 Sonata. Never a brand to shy away from radical redesigns, the new car features a drastically different look up front and in the rear. What hasn’t changed are the engines, with a choice of three four-cylinder engines, one naturally aspirated, one turbocharged, and the other a hybrid.

The Hyundai Elantra sees useful updates for 2024, with a freshened face and even more standard tech. With the compact segment continuing to see challenges from the small SUV crowd, Hyundai's now-smallest sedan majors on what sedans have long done best: offering a ton of space mixed with great fuel economy.

Porsche didn’t cut any corners when it came time to design its first EV. The Taycan was fresh, innovative and above all a Porsche. It introduced an 800-volt architecture, super-fast charging speeds, and breathtaking performance. The lessons learned after selling over 150,000 of them in just a few years have in no small part played a major influence on the brand's second EV—the new Macan.

The Tacoma finally brings Toyota's hybrid expertise to the mid-sized truck market. Far from a single-minded fuel-sipper, this electrified Taco comes correct with a muscular powertrain and a whole new Trailhunter trim catering to the overlanding crowd.

The Volkswagen GLI is celebrating its 40th anniversary. More importantly though, it is tasked with carrying the enthusiast torch as the final VW to have a manual transmission. With the Golf GTI and the Golf R both losing their six-speeds after 2024, the GLI will be the lone soldier.

More of a heavy facelift than a fully new model, the 2025 Toyota Camry nonetheless improves the brand's best-seller by updating the cabin and improving refinement across the board. Now exclusively hybrid-powered, the mid-sized four-door has a dash of Prius style inside and out.

The Toyota Crown came out last year, replacing the Avalon atop Toyota’s sedan hierarchy. With a choice of hybrid powertrains, the Crown offers a good combination of power, ride comfort, and efficiency.

Ford kicked off the Mustang's 60th anniversary on Wednesday. It was on this day, April 17, that the original model first debuted at the World's Fair in 1964. The Blue Oval will be hosting a birthday event at Charlotte Motor Speedway later today, but ahead of that it revealed a special edition Mustang named, appropriately enough, the 60th Anniversary Package.

The new Land Cruiser is smaller, more efficient, and more affordable than the basically-a-Lexus model we said goodbye to in 2020. That's all good, but with this downsizing, Toyota's icon now sits much closer to the 4Runner than ever before, which will also see a whole new generation later this year.

Like clockwork, every new Subaru WRX generation is met with criticism, only for Subaru to respond by adding subsequent trim(s) that supposedly make good on the newest vehicle’s disappointments. The introduction of the VB-gen WRX for the 2022 model year brought waves of hatred over the acres of cladding, negligible power increase, complaints that it wasn’t involving enough, and the demise of the beloved STI variant. The result is the WRX TR, a car in which Subaru claims to have tightened up the driving dynamics while maintaining the all-wheel-drive capability and fun-fused everyday drivability the sedan is known for.

The Fiat 500 left our shores a few years and it appeared Fiat might be leaving our market for good. But the brand has returned to North America as an electric vehicle manufacturer and is showing off the brand’s first offering, the 500e.

The Porsche Taycan sparked a war with Tesla when it set a Nurburgring record with its Turbo S. Tesla went on a mission to prove the Model S could beat the Porsche and they did with the Plaid, a 1,020 hp triple-motor EV that lapped the Nurburgring in just 7 minutes and 25 seconds. Not one to sit idly by, Porsche fired back with an all new Taycan model, the Turbo GT, and recently crushed the Plaid’s record by a whopping 18 seconds.

There sure is a lot of commonality between the two Toyota SUVs.
